Senior Director of Clinical Development
Jennifer Carothers is a Senior Director of Clinical Development at OptiNose. She joined the company in 2010 and is responsible for the operational oversight of the Phase III clinical development program for OptiNose’s drug delivery devices.
Prior to joining OptiNose, Ms. Carothers worked for Johnson & Johnson where she served in a variety of roles in the clinical research and benefit risk management including positions with JJPRD/Global Clinical Operations, Janssen and Ortho McNeil Janssen Scientific Affairs. She has also worked at Mitsubishi Pharma America, Innovative Clinical Solutions, TD and the University of Pittsburgh’s Epidemiology Department.
Ms. Carothers earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a MBA, and also holds a Doctorate of Science in Communication and Information Systems from Robert Morris University.
Accounts Payable Manager & Senior Accountant
Erica Colahan has been with OptiNose since 2011 as the Bookkeeper & General Accountant in the Finance Department. Reporting to the Vice President of Finance, Ms. Colahan is responsible for all Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll functions, handles monthly account reconciliations and has various month end close responsibilities.
Prior to OptiNose, Ms. Colahan had more than five years of experience in various office management, bookkeeping & general accounting roles within the legal, design services, insurance, and pharmaceutical industries.
Ms. Colahan earned her Bachelors of Arts degree from West Chester University.
Tony Flint, Ph.D.
Head of Regulatory and Quality Assurance
Tony Flint has been with OptiNose since 2005 and as Head of Regulatory and Quality Assurance, is responsible for ensuring OptiNose’s products are in compliance with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and European regulatory requirements.
Dr. Flint previously worked in regulatory affairs for Thermocore Medical Ltd. where he was responsible for managing the subcontract manufacturing of the company’s cardiovascular catheter products, European and United States clinic and regulatory activities, quality assurance, pre-clinical investigations and strategic reimbursement. He has 23 years of experience in the medical device and pharmaceutical industry, and is also a qualified engineer and auditor.
Dr. Flint earned a Bachelor of Science in Electronic Engineering from Bangor University of North Wales. He also earned a Ph.D. from Cardiff University in Dynamic Analysis of Cortical Bone.
Tammy R. McCauley
Chief Administrative Officer
Tammy McCauley joined OptiNose in 2010 and as Chief Administrative Officer, is responsible for managing logistical operations for the Yardley location.
Ms. McCauley was previously at Take Care Health Systems, where she coordinated and managed all aspects of the CEO’s and COO’s daily schedules and served as project manager. She has also worked as a consultant for clients such as Johnson & Johnson and Synergy Healthcare Communications, among others.
Ms. McCauley earned a Bachelor of Arts Administration from Cabrini College.
Elisabeth Nuttall is the Office Manager for OptiNose. She joined the company in 2005 and is responsible for the daily management of the office and administration, including human resources, pensions and personnel matters.
Prior to joining OptiNose, Ms. Nuttall worked at Dechert Law Firm in London. She was the secretary to the senior partner within the Corporate and Securities Department and has 20 years of legal secretarial and personal assistant experience, including paralegal work and research and information.
John L. Pickering
Executive Director, Business Development
John joined the company in 2010 and as Executive Director, Business Development he is responsible for helping to develop key areas of OptiNose’s strategy and business including product commercialization in the United States and globally, determining product pipeline opportunities for internal development or external partnering, and isolating other companies with proprietary molecules that would benefit from the OptiNose drug delivery technology.Prior to joining OptiNose, Mr. Pickering served as Director of Business Development at Quintiles, where he was responsible for developing strategic business relationships with key stakeholders in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industries. His 25 years of experience in both large and emerging pharmaceutical companies, healthcare technology, medical diagnostics and pharmaceutical marketing services includes positions at TMS Health, Ortho Biotech, Boston Medical Technologies, ParkStone Medical Information Systems and Glaxo Wellcome, Inc. John earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from Rutgers University.
Head of Device Development
Colin Sheldrake has been with OptiNose since 2004 and as Head of Device Development is responsible for the design, development and manufacturing scale-up of OptiNose’s nasal delivery devices. He also chairs OptiNose’s patent committee to ensure the intellectual property portfolio and patent filing is in line with the business need.
Previously, Mr. Sheldrake worked in design and development for Chiron Vaccines, PowderJect Pharmaceuticals, Rolls-Royce and Lexcel Technology. He has numerous inventions in the field of delivery devices and holds several patents.
Mr. Sheldrake has a Bachelor of Engineering and a D. Phil. in gas turbine aerodynamics from Oxford University.
Director, Human Resources & Healthcare Compliance
Lorraine Sikora is the Director of Human Resources and Health Care Compliance. A Project Management consultant to OptiNose since 2011, she officially joined the company in 2013.
Ms. Sikora was previously owner of Sikora Consulting and worked with the pharmaceutical, health care, financial, cable and telecommunications industries. A trained public speaker, Ms. Sikora is skilled in the design and facilitation of corporate training programs and her human resource activities include the design of corporate new employee orientation programs, recruitment and employment processes, creation of policy manuals, benefit plans, job descriptions, standard operating procedures and performance appraisals.
A graduate of Peirce College where she obtained a business degree,
Ms. Sikora has achieved a certification in Healthcare Compliance from Seton Hall University Law School as well as a certification as a Human Resource Generalist.
Jean A. VanDyke
Clinical Research Manager
Jean VanDyke is a Global Clinical Research Manager at OptiNose, responsible for many aspects of the operational execution of our Phase III clinical trials and has been with the company since 2012.
Prior to joining OptiNose, Jean held a position in Clinical Operations at Sanofi-Aventis’ Clinical Research Unit as well as serving as a contractor for several clinical operations and quality monitoring teams within large pharmaceutical companies. She has more than 15 years combined experience in clinical trial management and clinical trial conduct and was a Psychiatric Clinical Nurse Specialist at the University of Pittsburgh’s Western Psychiatric Institute and Clinic as well as a psychiatric nurse in community hospitals.
Jean earned a B.S. in Nursing from the Pennsylvania State University and holds a Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from the University of Pittsburgh.
